Invisalign is the best way to straighten your teeth without having to live with the “metal mouth” look of traditional braces. That’s because Invisalign is a series of clear, removable, plastic aligners that are custom-made for your teeth.
And it’s easy to get started. First, your doctor talks to you about your goals and examines your teeth to ensure they will benefit from the Invisalign system. He then writes a detailed treatment plan and orders a full set of customized aligners.
You wear each pair of aligners for a two-week period, allowing your teeth to gradually evolve into a smile that shows off the real you. Treatment length varies, depending on your dental condition and the severity of your case. But often, a full program of treatment takes less than one year.
Invisalign is kind of like invisible braces. It’s also virtually clear, so most people around you probably won’t even notice you’re wearing it. Even better, it’s comfortable—without wires and brackets that could irritate your mouth.
Invisalign is also more convenient than traditional braces. Much more.
The aligners are easily removable, so you choose when you wear them. You’re free to take them out whenever you need to. Eating, drinking… you name it. Even if you just need a break from wearing your aligners during a high school reunion or special work event, that’s OK. But remember, you need to wear your aligners are prescribed by your doctor in order to achieve your treatment goals.
Invisalign aligners are made just for you with advanced 3-D computerized technology. Your clear aligners are custom-made for your teeth. And only your teeth. Little by little, and over a time determined between you and your dentist, your teeth will gently move to create the smile you’ve always wanted.
For a dazzling smile, the clear choice is Invisalign. Insist on it. See your Invisalign-trained provider to see if it’s right for you. And before you know it, you’ll be smiling the way you want to.
X-rays are focused beams of particles that pass through tissues producing an image on special film, showing the underlying structures. This provides the familiar black and white image Dr. Primero uses to diagnose disease. Without an x-ray there would be no way to detect infection or pathology deep within the oral structures that might require attention.
Here at The Smile Fairy Dental Spa, we utilize digital radiography which allows us to take x-rays using up to 90% less radiation than conventional film x-rays. Using this technology, we are able to take an x-ray of your mouth by using a small sensor which records the image of your teeth. The result is a highly detailed image of your mouth that can easily be enhanced to better diagnosis dental concerns and determine the very best treatment for each case.
Keeping up with your oral hygiene is very important. At our office, we customize cleanings based on your periodontal (gums and bone) health. Dr. Primero offers same day full porcelain crowns using CEREC. That’s right SAME DAY. No need to be stuck wearing a temporary for a couple of weeks and then have to come back to get your crown, we can do it the same day right here in the office. We offer dentures and partials to help replace missing teeth or teeth too decayed that need replacement. Dr. Primero strives to give you that everlasting smile that you deserve.
Endodontics (Root Canals)/Oral Surgery (Extractions)
Endodontics is the dental specialty that deals with the nerves of the teeth. When a tooth becomes infected it is usually related to the nerves in the root of the tooth. The infected nerves need to be removed. If left untreated an infection can turn into an abscess, which is a much more serious problem that includes bone loss in the jaw. Dr. Primero can do most root canals here in her office.
Extractions are needed to remove irreparably damaged teeth, prepare mouths for restorative therapies, and eliminate crowding. If your tooth requires extraction, Dr. Primero will perform the procedure with the utmost care and attention to detail. Our entire team at The Smile Fairy Dental Spa will make sure that you’re comfortable and attend to your needs throughout your visit for a positive, successful experience.
Periodontal (gum) Therapy
Periodontal (gum) disease is the most common cause of tooth loss in adults and this is generally an infection caused by plaque. Plaque is a sticky film of bacteria and food that forms on teeth and must be removed daily to prevent cavities and gum disease. If the plaque is not removed, pockets form around the teeth and the gums can become swollen and irritated. Treatments in our office include non surgical therapy called scaling and root planning (deep cleaning), as well as surgical therapies known as gingivectomies. It is very important that we detect gum disease which can contribute to heart disease and many other health problems.
Headaches, neck and shoulder aches, jaw pain, teeth grinding are just some of the common symptoms that may indicate TMJ disorder, a misalignment of the jaw joints technically known as the temporomandibular joints. Dr. Primero can help assist with your TMJ by putting you in an oral appliance to wear during part of the day or night. An oral splint, or nightguard, will hold the jaw in correct position, releasing the pressure on tense muscles and irritated nerves and slowly easing the pain and discomfort in your jaw.
Do you play sports or your children? Here at The Smile Fairy Dental Spa, we offer custom made sports mouthguards which is made by using several layers of different plastics which are pressure laminated together like laminated glass so as to make a very impact absorbing mouthguard. They come in several colors and designs so you can create your very own custom mouthguard.
Have sleep apnea or snoring problems? Dr. Primero offers a unique approach to prevent snoring and help sleep apnea thereby improving health and quality of life with using the TAP (Thornton Adjustable Positioner). The TAP maintains a clear airway to reduce snoring and improve breathing. The TAP is comfortable and patient-friendly.
